    U.S.-Mexico Border Health Commission

    The U.S.-Mexico Border Health Commission (U.S.M.B.H.C.) was created in July 2000 with the signing of an agreement by the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Secretary of Health of Mexico for, as authorized by the 1994 U.S.-Mexico Border Health Commission Act, Public Law 103-400, that encouraged the President to conclude an agreement with Mexico.

    The Commission is comprised of a U.S. Section and a Mexican Section and is composed of twenty-six members, including the Secretaries of Health of both countries. The Commission has outreach offices in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.
