    Infectious Disease Surveillance

     

    The Office of Border Health collaborates with the Department of Health’s Epidemiology and Response Division/Infectious Disease Epidemiology Bureau to catalyze disease surveillance and reporting activities with local and state health authorities in West Texas, Chihuahua State Health Services, and with non-government healthcare services providers operating in New Mexico’s border counties. These activities have included:

    • Border Infectious Disease Surveillance (BIDS) 

    • Early Warning Infectious Disease Surveillance (EWIDS)

    • BIDS & EWIDS Summary of Activities

    • Training of Infectious Disease Control Practitioners on the Epidemiology and Investigation of Binational Infectious Disease Cases
